pumpkin, PUMPKINS

Early this month Tessa and Austin got to go to pumpkin land and each received a pumpkin. Then a friend of mine called up and said she grew a lot pumpkins and for us to come and get some. Then the kids came home with free vouchers for more pumpkins. So we went to Macey's this morning and each got a pumpkin. Alex chose one that was almost 50 lbs. Austin chose one that was just a little bit smaller, then Tessa chose one that was just right for her. So by the time we were done we had a variety of big, bigger, and biggest pumpkins.

Dad helping us get the pumpkins ready.
All the kids getting ready to gut them. Austin was so funny he didn't want to get his hands dirty. So dad told him to pretend that he was spider man and he was digging in spider webs. Austin said, thanks dad, that makes it even worse. But he still did it. Ben on the other hand is extremely anal and spent most of the time making sure that each pumpkin was completely cleaned out. Thanks Dad. We have two that Austin and Tessa designed them selves, a cat, a witch, the batman symbol, an alien, a traditional pumpkin face , a pumpkin face with fangs, and a werewolf. I think that is it. We have a total of 9. Crazy, but a lot of fun.

We also went on the Haunted River in Provo. Not something that I would recommend, for the price. But the kids had some fun and got free candy. I think tonight we will go to the drive by haunted house. It is pretty cool, you sit in your car and listen to a radio station that is playing the Haunted Mansion from Disney and lights will light up according to the song.

Ben's new Sticker

So for weeks now, Ben has been trying to find the perfect sticker for the back of his Xterra. So finally he found the perfect one. Here it is.

If you don't know what it is, it's the Monster symbol. Pretty cool. What do you think?

Austin's Birthday

Austin turned 7 yesterday. We started the day out with the traditional decorating of the house and the X. Because it was a school day, he had to go to school. He wasn't feeling very good, but I sent him anyway. I went to help out with his class, and he seemed worse. So the teacher said that she would do his birthday thing, then I could take him home. So I left and then came back and he was at lunch with the Principle, I asked if he wanted to go home, he said no way I get to eat with the big cheese, and he was feeling better. So after school , Ben and I picked everyone up and we headed to Boondocks.

Tessa, Lauchlan, Kyson, Drew, Austin, CJ, and Alex and Reed not pictured. Austin opening his presents. This is called Bakugan, Austin and his friends are obsessed with them. Every time we looked for them at the store, they were all gone. So we lucked out to find a pack of 6. So when we went to order his cake he chose a transformer cake, the gal that was helping us, asked Austin what he wanted it to say, he chose " Happy Birthday From Optimus Prime." Pretty cool. We ate pizza and cake then headed out doors. It was really cold so we went from outside to the inside pretty fast. Ben got the extra ticket, so he took the kids everywhere, and I got to sit back and make sure we didn't lose anyone.
So again from 3 p.m. to about 9 p.m. long party, but I think he had a blast. Until next year.

Decorating

I got a little creative this Fall/Halloween. I put up some fall leaves and wreaths, and did a little inside. Then today I went to Joannes and got a couple fake pumpkins that you can carve and 4 real pumpkin's and made some pumpkin kids. I also hung up some ghosts. So Heather here are the pics you wanted. Love ya.

Bored Kids

A couple of weeks ago, I was trying to do a little touch painting, and the kids were going crazy with boredom. So I gave them a can of shaving cream and told them to go outside and have fun. The next time I check on them this is what I saw.

Alex helping Austin get completely cover in shaving cream.

Tessa getting even at Austin, for throwing it in her hair.

Alex didn't want it all over him. But it was OK to get it all over them. So because of my brilliant idea, not only do I have to clean up hate paint mess, I also had to clean this mess up. Word of advise, if you need the kids out of your hair while you are painting, get them a movie or playing a board game. Or do it when the kids are at school.

Football in the rain.

On Saturday, Alex had a football game. When we woke up in the morning it was raining pretty good. So I kept thinking that the game would be moved. So at 10:30am, I ran down to the field, just to see. To my complete surprise they were still playing. So I ran home, loaded up on chairs and umbrella's, got everyone redressed in warm clothes. I forgot the camera, so no pictures. Well we are placed third and if we won this game we will make it to the SUPER Bowl on 10/11/08. So we were one touchdown ahead, but missed the 2 points. The other team was about to make another touchdown, and Alex jumped and reached up and tipped the ball, so the other player didn't get the ball. All of the boys ran up to Alex and started to chant " GO Alex, GO Alex". Apparently, he won the game for them, by stopping the catch. He was beaming, when the game was over. I was so proud of him. So we won, and now we will have a full day of Football next Sat. I will bring my camera next time.

Update of My Life

I haven't posted in 3 weeks. I have been super busy with football games, soccer games, and dance recitals. When I have free time I am babysitting. My house is too quiet these days when all the kids are in school. I LOVE October and Halloween. I like to decorate my house. I am going to be posting some pictures of the games & dance recitals like I promised very soon. I might even take some pictures of my Halloween decorated house and post them. I also love Christmas time and my house looks like the North Pole exploded here.

What I wish I was doing this weekend???? Going down to visit my sister like my lucky brother and mom are doing. :-(
